Enigmatic Johan van der KempJännää ettei toi balenaetcher näköjään enää toimi macissa ollenkaan.... koetin tehdä yhden boottaavaan usb-tikun, mutta kone ei sitten tunnista sitä ollenkaan, saati että boottais tikulta... Sitten on noita "vaihtoehtoja" balenaetcherille joista yhtäkään en näköjään osaa käyttää....
PalPartacaPues me estoy dando de tortas porque, tras usar el #BalenaEtcher para crear el USB de arranque con la ISO del Mint, el mac deja de reconocer el pen. Y ahí estamos y ya me pican los ojos. Así que quizá mañana o el miércoles continúo los intentos.

La scorsa settimana ho installato #LinuxMint su un #Lenovo ideapad 3 slim con cpu Ryzen 7 7730U.
Essendo un PC con preinstallato Windows 11 ho creato il supporto avviabile con #rufus ma mi dava un errore nel boot/EFI, per cui ho provato con #Ventoy, #balenaetcher e con #dd ma l'errore era sempre lo stesso.
Poi mi si è accesa la lampadina 🤔, vuoi vedere che gli dà fastidio il mouse esterno bluetooth? L'ho scollegato e magicamente il supporto si è avviato

I had been using Balena Etcher to write Linux ISOs to USB sticks since I installed Linux on my current workstation back in 2020. I read something late last year or early this year about Etcher sending telemetry about the ISO being installed, regardless of the user settings. From there, I read a recommendation to use the Raspberry Pi Imager as an alternative. Despite its name, the Raspberry Pi imager can write any ISO to a USB stick (although it does have many Raspberry Pi-specific options). I have used it numerous times with no issues whatsoever.
Montalvo#BalenaEtcher funcionó muy bien, y la instalación fluyó sin mayores contratiempos.
#Zara (nombre para esta versión de #LinuxMint) insistía en tener una conexión a internet para instalar el driver de la tarjeta #Broadcom y poder usar el Wifi. Nada que un cable largo de ethernet desde el router no pudiera resolver. Una vez instalado el WiFi, el resto de la configuración y las actualizaciones se hicieron rapidamente. (2/3)

Los últimos dias he estado experimentando con diferentes distros de #Linux y herramientas de recuperación para #Windows, para instalarse desde una USB.
Existen muy buenas soluciones para crear USB booteables, como #balenaEtcher para #MacOS, o #Rufus para Windows; pero a sugerencia de @Jbeuw probé con #Ventoy (https://www.ventoy.net/).
Ventoy te permite consolidar en una USB tantas imágenes como su capacidad lo permita, y al arrancar mostrarte un menu desde donde seleccionar la que necesites.

#Ubuntu #Linux installer is much more user friendly than #Fedora Workstation installer. Ubuntu also allows Wifi access to be set up from the get go. Am doing a clean installation and used #balenaetcher to create an install iso file on a USB drive. Installation is slow but proceeding. Am proceeding with a minimal install - will add stuff later Cc FYI @aarRJaay
