Today’s #BeerAdventCalendar pick takes us to central Washington, where #BaleBreakerBrewing crafts a variety of beers from its location on a working hop farm. As you might expect, many of the beers are hop-forward, so it’s no surprise that the brewery releases an après-ski winter IPA this time of year—High Camp Winter IPA.

Remember those sunnier days? Yeah, us too. But fall rains are here to stay—and that’s exactly why you need #balebreakerbrewing’s Fresh Hop Top Cutter in your life right now. 🌦️🍺
Fresh hop beers like this one don’t hang around—they lose their punch fast. Bright, piney, and bursting with that just-picked hop goodness, Top Cutter demands to be enjoyed fresh before the rain dulls the memory.
So grab it, sip it, savor it—because the rain might wash the leaves away, but it won’t wash away this flavor (if you act fast). 🍃⚡
More thoughts below:
Bale Breaker Fresh Hop Top Cutter: On draft, fresh hop Topcutter IPA produces an initially powerful amount of white head, resting on a pool of orange, burnt gold clarity.
Swirling and smelling, we recover notes of tropical citrus, orange and grapefruit citrus, an herbal spiciness, some celery.
Sipping, we recover many of those notes, along with resiny pine, and stone fruit. Overall, Fresh Hop Topcutter has a medium mouthfeel, noticeable presence of alcoholic warmth, and a lingering, albeit subtle, resiny stickiness.

Washington’s #BaleBreakerBrewing refreshed the recipe for its Field 41 Pale Ale this year, re-imagining the #beer as a lighter, crisper, easier-drinking version of the original. The new recipe dropped the alcohol from 5.2 to 4.2% by volume, as well as the calories (now 100 per 12-ounce serving). The brewery is calling the new recipe Yakima Pale Ale.

The next in our ongoing review of #DryJanuary options is from someone unexpected. #BaleBreakerBrewing.
Brewed to be an India Pale Ale, High & Dry is a non-alcoholic interpretation of an IPA. I mean, it’s got 30 IBU but an ABV (alcohol by volume) of 0.4%! Only available on draft at the taprooms (Seattle & Yakima), we kick the tires on this alt. to the “one more beer” argument. #Seattle #Yakima #Washington #Beer #photography
