Corky Jones recorded a rockabilly tune called "Hot Dog" for the Pep label in 1956 (maybe). Turns out Corky Jones was a pseudonym for Buck Owens. He didn't want the fact that he'd recorded a rock n' roll tune to hurt his country career. It didn't.

A man holding hostages inside a building in California that houses a bank branch and school district office has been shot and killed by the FBI. The Bakersfield Police Department said in a statement Wednesday that the suspect was killed in “an officer-involved shooting involving Federal Bureau of Investigation personnel.” Police say all the hostages are free and none was harmed. The standoff in downtown Bakersfield began Tuesday afternoon when officers responded to a call of a bomb threat at the Chase Bank building. Bakersfield Police said the man barricaded himself inside with several people. Two were released Tuesday after negotiations with authorities. Nearby buildings, including City Hall and the police headquarters, were evacuated and some roads were closed.
Well, that's unusual... bank robbery with hostages, and a bunch of people locked down in buildings around the bank.
