Es ist wirklich nicht unsere Lieblingslösung größere Netzbereiche zu blocken, aber eine der Wenigen um das Problem in den Griff zu bekommen. Daher haben wir jetzt auch den eingehenden Zugriff auf Port 80 und 443 aus den Tencent Netzen (AS
132203 und AS45090) geblockt. Sollte das für euch Probleme machen gilt weiter hin bitte kurz beim Support melden. #BadRobots

Wenn wir uns die Metriken der letzten 4 Tage so ansehen, ist es schon beeindruckend deutlich, woher die ganzen #BadRobots kommen. Und wir filtern nur einen geringen Teil.

Amazon mit ihrem einen Autonomen System liegt bei > 15.000 geblockten IPs. Das nächste AS hat schon nur noch 773 geblockte IPs.

Attached: 3 images Zusammen mit @hallo haben wir eine neue Lösung gebaut, um dem Problem mit zu aggressiven Bots auf U7 Herr zu werden. (Siehe auch: https://blog.uberspace.de/2024/08/bad-robots/) Dabei fließen die Daten auch in unsere neue Heimdal Software, die uns in Zukunft einfach zentral ermöglicht, IPs zu blocken und das Ganze für einen besseren Überblick zu visualisieren und mit Daten anzureichern. Außerdem blocken wir einige Bots wie den von Facebook jetzt nicht mehr vollständig, wodurch Link-Previews wieder gehen sollten.

Und wir können vermelden, dass das neue Fail2Ban Setup für aggressive Bots auf allen Hosts ausgerollt ist. Und man kann sagen … es funktioniert.

Außerdem sehen wir keine falsch positiven Blocks mehr für Facebook Link Previews wie mit der alten Lösung. #badrobots
