I have sent them numerous emails saying I want to cancel, they have no way of canceling listed in their FAQ, and they kept charging my credit card even after multiple complaints. SamTip: If you're looking for car insurance in Australia - do *not* go with Budget Direct / Auto General.
I waited 3 1/2 months just for them to approve the repair and allow the mechanics to order the parts, so far I've been without my car for 4 months and counting.
They'll take your money with urgency and demand your excess the day you have an accident, but when it comes to delivering the service paid for - they don't even answer their phones.
For several weeks I'd call them between 5 and 25 times a week and wait on hold for 15 to 60 minutes and get no answer 95% of the time.
The only reason they even ended up bothering to approve it in the end was after I logged a complaint with the AFCA (afca.org.au) - who also seemed a bit useless and very slow to respond.
