#Spring is nearly here. Last week, there was plenty of snow in the #backyard Now, the wild crocuses are peaking up through the lawn. And, the snowdrops too. Next, the forsythia will bloom, the canes are showing some color and plenty of buds. I clipped a few branches and brought inside to force them so we can enjoy early color. I love this time of year. Whenever I think how much I'd like to move because the property is high maintenance, I'm remember how much I enjoy it. I have no illusions, nobody else will care for it like I do and nature will soon reclaim this little bit of eden. #gardening
Repost of an old image for #silentsunday

A plant hanger and a wind chime hang quietly in the foreground, connected by an old spiderweb slightly blowing around in the breeze whose occupants have deserted it some time ago.

#Backyard report:

Only a few small stick blown down from last night's wind storm (20+ mph sustained, gust at least to 45 mph).

#birbs: A flock of goldfinches is cackling a way in the trees and bushes.

Looks like the budding blossoms on the apricot have have survived the wind storm. 🙂

Good news: The apricot tree about to go full bloom. 🙂

Bad news: Wind storm this evening and tomorrow. 🌬️

Hope the tree holds off going all out, otherwise the blossoms are lost and no apricots...
