The past two days were hovering around 80° F. Then today...snow.

Asleep in the Juniper
I was moving slowly under the juniper during my lunch break, camera up, half-expecting everything to scatter. A flock of dark birds had already bolted over the fence and away. So when I spotted the American Goldfinch perched on a branch a metre or so in front of me, I assumed the same thing was about to happen. It didn't move. I took a few frames. Still nothing. I edged closer. The bird sat there, rounded and fluffed, head slightly bowed. Then I noticed: its eyes were closed. Not blinking.
