@rayocentric @baltimore_fishbowl Well it's true #Baltimore has lost population since the 1990's. Maybe it should have been a #BRT line instead (the podcast actually mentions that Moore is now floating that the new version of the red line might be BRT)... definitely depends on ridership estimates and decisions about fare collection. It wasn't an all or nothing though... Hogan didn't explore a way to take advantage of all the work that had been done. Huge waste of taxpayer money.

🚌🇵🇹 CaetanoBus is leading the world’s first #hydrogen Bus Rapid #Transit (BRT) consortium headed by a bus manufacturer, marking its shift from vehicle producer to #mobility solutions provider. The project supports the launch of #Metro do Porto’s first hydrogen-powered #BRT corridor in Porto.

Under a single-contract model, CaetanoBus coordinated vehicle supply, green hydrogen production, refuelling infrastructure, solar energy generation, depot energy management and long-term maintenance. The system includes 12 H2.CityGold 18-metre #buses using #Toyota fuel cell #technology.

The integrated structure centralises accountability, aiming to improve reliability, reduce complexity and lower total cost of ownership. CaetanoBus plans to expand the model with a pay-per-use offer, enabling operators to access fleet and energy infrastructure on a per-kilometre basis, reducing upfront capital costs.

The aim should be introduce dedicated buses lanes, aka #BRT. Increase frequency and timings of busses. Have clean busses. Make tracking of busses possible. Introduce a congestion tax for all cars and trucks, which is linearly proportional to engine capacity and road length occupied. Have a common transit card across NY and NJ.

Pathway to hell is paved with good intentions and good deeds. Like Free bus rides.
