And with that I’m done talking about BMX Bandits.

Nope, no more information to give.

There’s not another single notable piece of information about this film I can think of.

Well I really enjoyed that.

I kind of want to go find a big pile of dirt and do a gnarly jump off it.

If I have an enduring image of this film, it’s Goose chasing a truck up several hills on a single speed BMX, whilst covered in baking flour.

“Don’t move a muscle, Spartacus!”

?!?!?

And yeah, it takes till the second half of the film for the BMX action to really kick in.

But once it starts it’s pretty awesome.

There’s a few scenes with a car and the bike riders on screen at the same time. It has a certain early 80s “is this safe?” kind of feel to the stunt work.

Whenever the villains open their car door, rubbish (empty beer cans, newspaper sheets) falls out.

Such a weird but clever characterisation.

At one point the villainous goon literally says “nyuk nyuk nyuk” as a villianous laugh.

(like from The Three Stooges or something)

This film has a bunch of memorable scenes. The kids/bandits are chased through a cemetery by goons in monster masks and it’s effectively tense.

At one point, the character of Judy falls into a muddy open grave with a rat at the bottom of it. Fairly scary for a kid’s movie.
