I have such a strange relationship with the #PunchBrothers.

Individually they are all incredibly talented musicians whom I love. Chris Thile is unparalleled and Chris Eldridge is a master of the guitar. Not to mention Noam Pikelny…

Together they are greater than the sum of their parts. Writing and composing genre-defying music that is original, creative, and challenges the listener. They push the envelope in all the right ways. There is literally no other band that can do what they do.

And yet…I never chose to listen to their music. I own two of their albums that I haven't listened to in years. I never think “some Punch Brothers might be nice right now." It's just weird to me that I like a band I never listen to.
