I have blocked the instance "bsky.brid.gy" and I advise that others do the same to other services doing what they do.

Seeing what #BlueSky is doing and that I've only now seen who the old CEO (who hasn't left but moved roles) really is, I no longer care to see posts nor people who bridge from there.

Fuck BlueSky. If I see another service or account being bridged from BlueSky, I will block your instance outright. I don't care.

Once again for the back of the room: blocking a person does not ‘silence’ them or impede their free speech. It is a simple action of self-determination, like hanging up the phone, or getting up and moving to a different table, or telling a person they aren’t welcome in your home. The anti-blockers think you owe it to them to stay on the phone, that you can’t leave the table, or will show up at your home anyway; these are people who show themselves to be dangerous.

@mattblaze occasionally notes the problems of the Mastodon HOA, mostly when they attack him for absolutely no comprehensible reason. Today was one such.

You can reliably assume that a bunch of mastoscolds will turn up in the replies to his (reasonable) description of what happened, downplaying the problem, insisting it's not that big a deal, that "you just block them, man, problem solved", or even threatening not to respond to his posts anymore (Don't you threaten me with a good time!).

And (finally) my point: those replies are an *excellent* source of accounts to mute or block. Problem solved, indeed.
