Saturday my wife came up with a great idea to take the new light rail line (the 2 Line) into downtown Redmond. So, we did. We had coffee at Victor's, walked around, then ate lunch at Palmer Bar & Grill. On the return trip, we got off at the South Bellevue Station and walked around the Mercer Slough Nature Park. We spotted a garter snake and got eaten alive by mosquitoes. Back on the train for home. Good views of downtown Seattle. #PNW #SoundTransit #nature #photography #Seattle #Bellevue #city

heute ist - oder war - der letzte tag der #freiraumKunst ausstellung im Präsidentenpalast #Bellevue. ich war am Freitag dort. es gibt dort keine klimaanlage, alle fenster waren offen. sehr ungewöhnlich für ein museum. eines der ausgestellten werke, ein 4,7 x 4,7 meter großes Gemälde stammt von 2017. normalerweise würde da remperatur und luftfeuchtigkeit konstant gehalten. offenbar haben vier leute die offenen fenster genutzt um herauszuklettern und den garten zu besichtigen.

immerhin wurden präsidentielle regenschirme bereitgestellt, um den schattenlosen weg vom eingang zur tür zu überwinden. und das ist offenbar mehr als die bundesregierung getan hat.

natürlich können merz und klingbeil nicht während einer hitzewelle mal eben 30 millionen bäume pflanzen. sie hätten aber symbolisch einen pflanzen können. stattdessen haben merz und klingbeil nun klar gemacht, dass sie nicht wie die AfD 10 milliinen menschen in kühlere weltgegenden evakuieren wollen, sondern dass sie 10 millionen menschen direkt in deutschland rösten wollen.

I did #Market analysis and chose #Oracle and dropped half of my inheritance all at once to get the discount for the Oracle #DBA #Masters program in #Bellevue Education Center. #Oracle #Education back then was the bomb. I have all those materials, all five boxes from that course that made my career.

Continuing yogurt update: Filmjölk on the first try was kinda curd-like and too watery. I strained off the whey and used the rest in pancakes. Then decided to make another batch with the whey. The second batch came out smooth and the consistency of crème fraîche, so that’s a win! Currently culturing another pass at Matsoni to see if it improves on a second round.

Next step is to taste test and pick a household yogurt. I’m not gonna be tending and maintaining three different strains here. 😂

That said, if someone on the Eastside of #Seattle wants any of these heirloom yogurt cultures, I’m happy to share before I pare! (I mean, I’ll share with Seattlites too, but you gotta come to me ;-) I’m easily biking distance to the Line 2 or a longer walk there.)

The Network Automation BoF (Birds of a Feature) at NANOG 97 was a huge success!

Attendees introduced themselves and shared their experiences and challenges encountered in their automation journeys. The community effectively collaborated to address each other's problems and generated ideas for advancing their automation efforts.

Participants came from diverse backgrounds, including NOC managers, network managers, network monitoring professionals, network engineers, and software engineers.

A key discussion point was the importance of not attempting to solve all network automation problems at once. It is acceptable to tackle one issue at a time and iterate on solutions later

Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, expressing desire for more sessions like this. I have submitted requests to the NANOG Programming Committee for additional events through the end of 2027.
