"In April 2022, the Special Committee on Reforming the Police Act released its report. Among its 11 recommendations were replacing the RCMP with a provincial police force, adopting a new approach to mental health calls and giving First Nations self-determination over policing in their communities.

The goal was to modernize the Police Act and bring it in line with the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act."

Not only did they not do anything at all on overdue & necessary #PoliceReform but the Horgan/Eby #BCNDP has spent more funds on sending cops to silence #citizens #dissent & arrest/kidnap/illegally detain Indigenous land defenders/water protectors on their own unceded lands, than any other BC government prior.

Let's not forget that #BCRCMP #CIRG unit was created in 2017, under Horganized #CrimesAgainstHumanity regime, as #CorporateMercenaries to protect ecocidal industry capital. The bill for CIRG services should be paid by the private ecocide industry they're protecting - not be put on backs of #BCTaxpayers. CIRG doesn’t protect citizens at all. It should be #abolished but this current #neoliberal greedy government isn't going to follow the moral & ethical route to do that.

#FuckTheRCMP - they flew these #helicopters multiple times, daily, to try & intimidate us. We had Transport Canada verify that this helicopter maneuver & 3 other ones documented at other resistance camp areas was illegal & violated federal regulations but no action was taken to punish people responsible for violations.

This footage was taken before over 100 RCMP CIRG goons raided 4 different #ResistanceCamps.

Voluntary RCMP #CIRG unit was created in 2017 as a strictly corporate mercenaries unit in BC. Approved by #BCNDP government. The same government who has given them multiple budget increases - millions of #BCtaxpayers monies were used for that. Taxpayers monies were also used by #BCgovernment on attempts to criminalize environmental activists in BC courts. Some of the court cases are still ongoing.

RCMP CIRG is a fully voluntary unit & RCMP who choose to join the unit get paid more than regular RCMP goons. It's all about the extra money for these colonial greedy chumps.

@AndrewHenry Meanwhile - other forest scientists & experts didn't have as much ethics & integrity as Herb. Some have been OK continuing to be paid to do the exact same studies/strategic reports - multiple times, with same results & recommendations that our #BCNDP government refuses to actually implement. We, the #BCTaxpayers , are funding repeated studies, which are not cheap, while #BCNewDeathParty keeps letting industry clearcut our forests with impunity. This government has violated #UNDRIP countless times. It's enraging.
