125 years ago today: a brand-new baseball club played their first ever home game in #Boston, at the Huntington Avenue Grounds.
A huge crowd of 11,000 watched the "Boston Americans" beat the Philly Athletics 12-4. The winning pitcher was some guy named Cy Young. That's him, seated on the far right of the front row, with the center part in his hair.
The nickname #RedSox didn't take hold for another 7 years, but the team was immediately more popular than the Boston Braves, who played across the street.
