Servicemen of the Armed Forces of #Ukraine, the National Guard, and the State Border Guard Service have been released from #Russian captivity. This is the first stage of the exchange in the format of "1000 for 1000".
Among those released are privates, sergeants, and officers. Most of them had been in captivity since 2022. They defended #Ukraine on various fronts, including #Mariupol and #Azovstal.

ℹ️ #Alexander_Shemet had been participating in the #ATO since 2015, and at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he was defending #Kyiv. It was he who carried out the last successful air breakthrough to the #Azovstal plant in #Mariupol in April 2022. The pilot managed to deliver ammunition and medical supplies there, and brought back the wounded.
For this, he was awarded the title of Hero of #Ukraine with the "#Gold_Star" order.
