Having a look at the #BritishAirways #Avios boosting offer and just realised the 109 Avios per £1 doesn't quite work out at that rate.

For these three, it comes up to 108.7 (to one decimal place) Avios per £1. I know it's not a lot, and this is why I feel I'm being petty. But at the same time, this is how big businesses sneakily screw people over, right?

E.g., at 109 Avios per £1, a boost of 128,215 Avios would actually cost £1,176.28. £3.30 less than the stated price.

Am I being petty?

Without Warning: Qatar Airways Significantly Increases Surcharges for Award Flights

Avios collectors have by now become accustomed to frustrations. In recent months, award flights with British Airways, as well as American, Alaska Airlines, and LATAM through the BA Executive Club, have become significantly more expensive. This devaluation was later extended to the Qatar Privilege Club, though in a somewhat milder form. This past weekend, the […]

Qatar Airways Privilege Club: Higher Avios Prices for Award Tickets within North America

In recent months, the British Airways Executive Club has implemented several devaluations of its miles. Flights within North America were particularly affected. Until December 2023, short-haul flights cost 7,500 Avios, but now British Airways charges a steep 12,000 Avios. However, this price increase could easily be bypassed until now: Avios could be transferred 1:1 from […]

Once Again: Drastic Devaluation for Flights with American, Alaska & LATAM by the British Airways Executive Club

Lately, British Airways seems to be making a habit of upsetting its frequent flyers. In just the past 12 months, there was first an (unannounced) mileage devaluation for flights with JAL and Cathay, and shortly thereafter, domestic flights in the US became more expensive. On top of that, there’s the switch to a spending-based mileage […]

Revenue based earning is great.... for airlines. Passengers? Not so much - Economy Class & Beyond

British Airways made the move to revenue-based earning last year for its loyalty currency- Avios– and I had a quiet prediction for flyers like me, it only could spell bad news. But like everything, I needed hard data to play with – and rather than asking for it – I needed to gather my own. […]
