I tested the R-532 sensitivity, found a ‘vacant’ channel. Vacant, as in no spurs or external disturbances. It shows 236nV for 10dB S+N/N at 30% modulation depth, that’s REALLY good for a 1984 unit 😳

But it coincides well with the last couple days on-air tests, it’s as sensitive as my other receivers.

This is a keeper! 🥰🤩

Look what came my way!! The legendary R-532 Airband receiver, all discrete, no MCU. And it works flawlessly!
Needed a cleanup and a backup battery replacement (luckily no leaks!) but at just EUR 20, this was a total nobrainer. It was manufactured between 1984 and 1987, so they’re really hard to find these days.
Can’t believe my luck here 🤷🏼‍♂️🤯

Your eyes are playing tricks on you! 🌬️✈️ Watch these windmill blades closely—they look like they're bending in the wind, but it’s actually just an optical illusion from the curve of the plane window glass! I saw an ad, “Become a Travel Agent for $99”. How hard can that be I thought? My first office was small. How small? The front closet of our home. In 2017 Travel Leaders honored us with their two top awards, the “Golden Legacy Award” and “Agency of the Year”. That same year our national conference was the largest ever. We hosted 51 travel partners, and 225 agents. With sales north of $65 million and the growth of our agent network reaching 2,000+, it was time to make succession a priority. Today, I have found my place in the world, where I hope to Explore | Educate | Inspire travel professionals and travelers alike!

Not your everyday flight path.

USAF RQ-4 Global Hawk #VVPE602 crossed the Atlantic and went straight to work in the Strait of Sicily. High-altitude surveillance (47,000ft) currently underway.

Watching the Mediterranean very closely today.

Abelbeck Aviation Checklist got another feature: it now supports multiple synchronised sessions.

Based on server-sent events, changes in one session are committed to all other sessions of a user. In the future I can do the checklists on my smartphone fixed to my thigh, while the tablet nearby shows my flight planning. And both reflect the current state.

Now I can again tend to the flight recorder part of my app.

"The Stinson Model A was one of the last commercial airliners produced in the United States with a steel-tube and fabric fuselage. Although the design was already outdated by the time it was introduced in 1935, it was still a relatively successful short-range, medium-capacity, tri-motor airliner. With a cruising speed of over 160 miles per hour, it was one the fastest tri-motor airliners available at the time and nearly as fast as the Douglas DC-2, which was introduced a year earlier. During the mid-1930s, it was primarily operated by American Airlines on the carrier’s five-stop Detroit–Chicago route, and later, the Washington D.C.–Chicago route. Other operators in the U.S. included Delta Air Lines and Central Airlines. See "Aviation Evolutions: The Jim Lund 1:72 Scale Model Airplane Collection", which features more than 200 models, on display, pre-security, in the Aviation Museum. http://ow.ly/bl8650jjq5O" This was posted to our Instagram account on October 03, 2018 – https://millsfield.sfomuseum.org/instagram/1729357609/

Danke, @fly_it 🛩
