#MAHB is said to be mulling on hiring a #IJM Corp-led consortium to carry on with the #aerotrain replacement project that was halted in August, according to sources familiar with the matter.

MAHB is currently ironing out the details before issuing the letter of intent to the consortium for the resumption of upgrading of the automated people mover (#APM) system.

Hold on, here's the real #apm content. Installed in 1999, the Mandalay Bay Tramway was the premier installation of the Doppelmeyr Cable Liner. This system is now widely installed in the US (by APM standards), including a second on the Strip, the Aria Express. It's a modern cable car, pulled by a wire rope driven from one end, in this case the Excalibur station. This has the advantage of less complexity and wear parts on the vehicle. #automatedpeoplemover
