In El Paso, working on editing, trying to focus on dragons and magic and grammar while my country--the Right outwardly homocidal, the Left inwardly masturbatorial--continues its psychotic, sociopathic, suicidal new-wave nosedive into full-blown, mask-off fascism for the 21st century.

But, yeah, this book should be good, and it'll hopefully help pay my bills and entertain some people until the revolution comes.

I'm doing #authorconfession again this month, as well as #MarchLitWrit. You can see all my posts at my Instagram, but here's my first one at the very least -- intro to me, my main character, and a synopsis of my #WIP (still #FromtheAshes). https://writing.exchange/media/kq-aayAnarxCGn93n7E
#Authorconfession Dec 28: My biggest accomplishment this year? Publishing Bad Lands

my weird western introducing Marshal Clayton Hostetter and thrusting my Nightwatch series into the light. Nightwatch is an experiment in combining characters and concepts from urban fantasy, scifi, spyfi, and westerns into a cohesive superhero series. It continues in the Bad Lands "sequel" Uncivil Service, which I publish in about a week. https://writing.exchange/media/OipOMcLiRcpLF7Xck7k https://writing.exchange/media/dvLe4h2LBhRxIF12cnk

#authorconfession 12/27: Best book I read this year? 4-way tie, honestly:

*The Bottle Stopper* by Angeline Trevena
*Showdown* by Diane Morrison
*Valor's Choice* by Tanya Huff
*Shadows Cast By Stars* by Catherine Knutsson https://writing.exchange/media/dB_ApaWnGGe6q_scC2w

#authorconfession 12/26: Fave moment of 2017? I don't know. I have trouble picking out favourite moments of the year. I will say a huge bright spot was my aunt's reaction to the bday gift of a shawl I crocheted for her.

#authorconfession day 16: my WIP takes place in two main settings so far - nyc and austin, tx. both of which i've been to multiple times, but i've never lived in either, so i've had to do lots of research. the next arc is a road trip, which i'm really looking forward to!
#authorconfession day 15: okay, word count report... probably easiest if i break it down like this.
current december total: 34,029
total wordcount of WIP: 533,395
2017 wordcount: 660,745 (goal is 700k)
#authorconfession day 12: literally like 90%. this story has no plot because it's a very slow-paced story about a happily married couple. the storyline is largely centered around their day-to-day. it is extremely self-indulgent, because i wrote it for me, and i love it. i adore this kind of story and i'm thrilled to be writing one.
#authorconfession day 11: i have two main characters, and i don't know which one of them i'd rather be! i'll pick both πŸ˜‰ actually, like all my characters, i think they reflect part of me, though it's not always obvious (even to me) what part.
#authorconfession i don't write with socks on 😱 actually i use a very comfy blanket to keep myself warm... which is good, because it's been unusually cold here.
