I returned to Toohey Forest this afternoon. No bird photos before the light went, so I switched to macro mode with flash. I have tried to capture some of the lifecycle of grasstree (Xanthorrhoea sp.) flower spikes.

The fire pit base is finally finished, which means it's usable 🎉
The stone seats can wait another year or so 🤣
The common eggfly butterflies are out and the dogs are tired 😃
The Common Eggfly Butterfly (Hypolimnas bolina) is also known as the Varied Eggfly Butterfly and the Great Eggfly. Here at Ausemade, we certainly like the New Zealand name for it, as they call them the Blue Moon Butterflies. This species of the family Nymphalidae are found from Madagascar through Asia and Australia.
I have no idea what this tiny brown insect is. It is no more than 1mm long. It appears to be carrying around some rubbish it collected.
I found it crawling on a container of figs packed in Childers, Qld. It didn’t pose for the photos!
A couple of Blue-banded Bees coming for some nectar on our Holy Basil plant.

I didn’t photograph many birds yesterday at Mookin-Bah Reserve but there were plenty of butterflies.
One is an Orchard Swallowtail and the others are Common Crow butterflies, feasting on nectar.
