This is maybe screamo, or emo-hardcore - maybe post-hardcore. Recover are from Austin, Texas (and are technically still together although fairly inactive, as they all have other projects). Their debut full length 'Rodeo and Picasso' came out in 2001, and I listened to this one OFTEN in the early 2000s. The record starts off some kinda -core, but there's clean emo-esque singing too, just about a minute in and then alternating throughout. I always felt they mixed it up really well. I dug this record a lot, but not really anything Recover did after.

#NowPlaying this great, bizarre EP that Austin, Texas' MONTAZ put out in 2020, 'Red Butt'. It's like, weird fuzzed out butt rock kinda - reminds me of Sebadoh sometimes maybe? It's rad and I love it when it came out but hadn't revisited it for a while. It's on Bandcamp to buy, too, but no previews there. So here it is on the 'Tube
