Today's review is of the absolutely excellent No Good Deed by Katherine Kovacic (it is so not just because of the older, engaging female protag).

Some catching up - March Newsletter went out yesterday and you can read it here (new releases / upcoming ones - lots of book mentions!)
Also the currently reading / fortnightly update on the site:
February / March update in case anybody else does the "Easter is for planning what to read next (as well as catching up on the things you still haven't read)" thing. There's some tantalising new releases around at the moment, hopefully something for every sort of reader. Another long list of releases so a two part newsletter again. Click here for the Other Places listing.
Today's #review is of Black Velvet and Vengeance by Deborah Challinor
https://www.austcrimefiction.org/review/black-velvet-and-vengeance-deborah-challinor

The third (and it seems possibly the final) novel in the story of Tatiana Crowe, a female undertaker in 1870s Sydney, sees the return of a character from an earlier novel who has had quite the change in personality (interestingly - explained in the author's notes at the end of the novel).
Two #review entries for the end of the week. Very different books:
One True Word, Snæbjörn Arngrímsson https://tinyl.co/4ROT
and
Bang!, Taliyah Stone https://tinyl.co/4ROW
It's Friday so time for a #currentlyreading post:
and, because again a lot of upcoming releases - the last fortnight:
Today's review is for Dark Desert Road by Tim Ayliffe
Another twist on the terrorism / sovcit / manipulation theme which works as a thriller, a head kicking revenge novel and a family saga.
Friday's #currentlyreading and the Last Fortnight on AustCrime all combined into one post because there's (again) a lot of new / upcoming releases being listed:
https://www.austcrimefiction.org/last-fortnight-on-austcrime
Today's review is of the sensationally discomforting The Shark by Emma Styles
Built on fury, first love and white hot anger this is the story of young women who aren't going to take any bullshit from anyone anymore.
Last Friday's #CurrentlyReading didn't get posted because I was busy meandering with dogs but it's there now. And it's a bit long.

Turns out a week off is not enough time to catch up ...
Took a break over the first week in March so I'll backdate this post but it's not going live until Tuesday the 10th. So the reader need not think they are losing their minds - it's me. #JustFinished Old Games by Fiona Hardy Dark Desert Road by Tim Ayliffe (where does the time go)
Dropping in from a technology move that's causing only minor heartache to report that my review of Shellybanks by Louise Milligan has gone live today:
A recommendation that comes with caveats - it's a confronting story that needs to be hold
