Here's a lovely little #composition on a #replica of the Louvre #aulos, an Ancient Greek double-reed pipe found in #Egypt dating back to the 2nd or 1st-century BC. The #instrument was also popular throughout the #Roman Empire, and was, e.g., depicted on an altar to the goddess Vagdavercustis in Cologne, where it was shown being used in a religious context.
The channel "The Aulos Collective" is pretty young still, and has tutorials and, of course, recordings on this fascinating instrument.
