The #AugustineGospels have been safely kept in the Parker #Library for 450 years, may be seen in glorious detail online, & their ongoing role in public life is reaffirmed by rare & special display. This was their 10th outing. They were carried with great care by Christopher Kelly, Professor of Classics & Ancient History, Master of #CorpusChristi. More explanation here:

The 265 surviving folios of the #AugustineGospels include 2 pages with lively illustrations: #StLuke at the beginning of his #Gospel, & 12 scenes depicting the #PassionOfChrist.

The #ParkerLibrary has a new page on the #AugustineGospels, to celebrate entry into the #UNESCO UK #MemoryOfTheWorld Register. This extraordinary illustrated manuscript was owned by #StAugustine, sent to him by #PopeGregoryTheGreat to help in his mission to convert the Anglo-Saxons of England to Christianity.
