Seven years after the collapse of Carillion focused attention on failings of the audits sector & following lengthy consultations on reform of the auditing the Labour Govt. has decided to abandon legislation to reform the regulation of auditing.

Why? Well they claim the auditing sector has improved sufficiently to not require better regulation, and I wonder who told them that; the lobbyists from the big four auditors?

Not so much a U-turn as more political naivety!
