settimaCan anyone identify this #Pioneer #8Track player, seen here in A Tale of Sorrow and Sadness (#Japan, 1977)? The house in this scene is hyper modern, and has a slight 60s playfulness to it, but I assume the device is contemporary.
I could be completely wrong and it's and answering machine though.

Your post also has me musing on how this hobby seems heavily male - am I mistaken? I find this baffling. It's music, man - how can loving music be gendered? Or is it the collecting and possessing part? Am I a unicorn?
(And don't even get me started on the gender balance among #AudioEquipment officianados.)
