Boris KretzingerToday I fetched a parcel from Songbird Productions from the post office: My copy of Wings of Death for the Atari Jaguar arrived, and it is awesome! The game loads from cart, but the music is fetched from CD accordingly. That makes this the first Jaguar game that does that - good stuff. It's tough, but so nice to play it on the Jag like this 🥰. Christiaan KrasThe one unit that tries to read the disc regardless if there’s a cartridge inserted still behaves the same. So that’s interesting 🧐. The #AtariJaguarCD truly is one of if not the most wonky hardware there is.
So this weekend I swapped the drives in both #AtariJaguarCD units to see if that made a difference. It sort of did… Now neither of the units actually spins a disc. The one unit that used to sort of work (before this operation) would only bounce its laser but after the swap it only moves a bit when turning on.
I’m pretty much in the dark here as to why it isn’t working. Could both replacement drives be faulty? I think I’ll at least get a new PSU. These are old.
