My lover and I drove north to #Portland via #Astoria from #SanFrancisco. we listened to Ursula K Le Guin's "The Lathe of Heaven", only realizing half way it was centered around the locations of our travel. A freaky, dreamy tale that so happened to touch on so many of the places we drove through along the way. Yet another reminder that Ursula and I are meant to be connected, across space and time, and that I cherish her dedication to writing and sharing her amazing worlds and stories with us all.

One more good thing about #Astoria, #Oregon. They had a small, but lively and loud group of people protesting #fascism and ICE crimes. People were waving flags, showing homemade signs, waving at motorists and pedestrians, and looking delighted to take a stand. One man was blowing gigantic soap bubbles that caught the mellow light as well as everybody's attention. Good job!

Never get tired of #Astoria, #Oregon. As the decades go on, it gets less grungy and a little more exclusive and money-infused, but it's far from being ruined by the wealthy and smug. In addition to lovely #art galleries and places of hospitality, it still has grit and tough jobs to do with the #marine and #logistics industries.
