Can anyone recommend any research and/or evidence-based practices to support better sleep in #Neurodivergent individuals (adults and children)?

Many people find Christmas stressful for different reasons.
Some find it sensorially overwhelming - an onslaught of lights, sounds, smells, crowds, hugging, kissing ...
Some find the imposed change of normal routines stressful.
Some find the expectations stressful, of being seen to have a good time, going to parties, spending (more) time with people you wouldn't normally choose to - colleagues, family members....
The stress of what to buy for presents, and how to react when recieving them.
Christmas might hold difficult memories for some people.
There are many reasons.
Please try to be aware of and kind to someone who isn't 'getting into the Christmas spirit'.
There are ways you can help others have a less stressful time....
- Ask what *they'd* prefer to do around Christmas time......and genuinely listen and try to accommodate their preferences.
- Offer them a quiet room to use whenever they want to escape from the main area.
- Ensure this quiet room/area is accessible to them without them having to ask anyone.
- Let them know they can stay as long or as short as they want, with no questions asked.
- Let them know they're invited but no obligation to attend.
- Offer an alternative if they're uncomfortable with going to a Christmas event. Maybe a smaller gathering or meet with them separately another day?
Would love to hear any other suggestions.....
