In August 2024. During pre-trial hearings, defence lawyers for the #Filtin2t argued that the prosecution should be halted due to an "abuse of process."
As part of their argument, the defense alleged "collusion between the government and the Israeli state, Elbit Systems and the pro-Israeli lobby regarding the proscription," citing various meetings and communications that took place prior to the ban.

This was the evidence they produced in open court

The Timeline:

The "Terrorism Enhancement" Decision (March 2025): Internal documents revealed that the government's Proscription Review Group had actively considered the ban as early as March 2025, around the same time a judge secretly ruled that the activists could be charged with a "terrorism connection."

The Proscription Announcement (June 23, 2025): Home Secretary Yvette Cooper officially announced the proscription of Palestine Action.

The Ban Takes Effect (July 5, 2025): The group was officially designated a terrorist organization.

Did the Meetings Stop the Ban?

While the defence argued that these behind-the-scenes communications and meetings between the Home Office, Elbit Systems, and external lobbyists amounted to political interference, the presiding judge, Mr. Justice Johnson, ultimately dismissed the claim. He ruled that the communications outside of government did not come close to establishing improper conduct, and the trial proceeded.

During an interview with Owen Jones for The Guardian, she explained that if she felt Jeremy Corbyn was damaging the Labour Party's electoral chances, she would be direct about it. She said:
"The day that... you are hurting us more than you are helping us, I won't knife you in the back, I'll knife you in the front"

Just a reminder

Jess Phillips has resigned from frontbench positions multiple times:

May 2026: Resigned as Safeguarding Minister from the government, citing a lack of confidence in Keir Starmer's leadership following local election losses.

November 2023: Resigned as Shadow Minister for Domestic Violence to vote for a ceasefire in Gaza, which went against the party line.

June 2016: Resigned as a Parliamentary Private Secretary (PPS) in the Education team during a mass wave of shadow cabinet resignations under Jeremy Corbyn

@ApostateEnglishman He vowed to "prove the doubters wrong" and explicitly stated he would not resign, arguing that a leadership contest would plunge the country into chaos.

Key Takeaways

Nationalization: He announced that the government will formally nationalize British Steel this week.

EU Relations: He pledged to put Britain at the "heart of Europe" with a new deal, including an ambitious youth mobility scheme.

Defence Against Reform: Starmer warned that the UK is at risk of heading down a "dark path" and framed Labour as the only defence against "dangerous opponents" like Reform UK.

Job Guarantee: He promised a guaranteed offer of training or work placements for young people

This is from my notes made so far.

It other's wish to contribute, they would be most welcome

Alex Burghart says Starmer deliberately misquoted Olly Robbins and thereby fundamentally changed the meaning of what he had said. He said records of this are in Hansard

Claire Costinho is on ##bbclaurak she is the Conservative shadow energy spokesperson. Her position - the party's position - now seems to be "doing what is for the benefit of British interest."

LK points out the calm measured difference between her words and Patel's rabid, gung-ho enthusiasm for war and standing by the USA (c/f March 1st 2026) "much more pro active" was the expression she used*

" There are some families that have three of four kids, that's a deeply personal decision. And there are others who have more, and they have tens of thousands of pounds in benefits. And the country is going to go bankrupt" Robert Jenrick #Peston

Good grief 😔

(He then smiles because he has got away with saying this unchallenged by Robert)

"Wokerati": She described her opponents as the "Guardian-reading, tofu-eating wokerati"

Homelessness as a "Lifestyle Choice"

"Multiculturalism Has Failed": In a 2023 speech in Washington, D.C., she argued that multiculturalism had failed because it allowed people to live "parallel lives" without integrating.

The Progress Flag: She once referred to the #LGBTQ+ Progress flag being flown in government departments as a "monstrous thing"
