I've definitely grossed out many white friends when eating pigs feet, intestines, pig's ears, chicken feet & other animal parts that they find totally disgusting. What we find more disgusting is killing any animal for food/human beneficial uses & not using as many parts of that animal as possible. We don't believe in taking any animal lives for food & then just wasting anything that can actually be used to eat or to make things out of. We use almost everything! One of my Indigenous Aunties harvests fish skins to make clothes, bags & other useful items that she sells at public markets in nearby towns.

My ex has fundamentally changed my cuisines. I think Taiwanese food will now always be a staple in my diet 😋

Tonight's dish: *Lu Ròu Fàn 卤肉饭 (Braised pork over rice)

It may not look good right now, but OMG this is melt in your mouth tasty! The umami is what I've been missing my whole life! (and being a girl. So.. probably 50/50!). And this málà ingredient is this numbing spice (from peppercorns) that just really kicks it up a notch! Its. An. Experience.

It took me being with my husband 7 yeara to find this dish. Because I couldnt exolain what it was I ate that one time. It wasn't until mom made it this last year (actually 1 year ago this week... Wild) that I discoveree what it was.

(just realized she's not my mom anymore. That's... Kind of weird. To take years to get used to calling her mom (naturally) only to then... Not. XD)

難以言說狀態好不好，昨天家裡沒有米了，又懶得出門，乾脆玩個麺糰吧～其實發麺時我並沒想好要做什麼，反正後來就變成了…
水了個煎包～水煎了個包～
K先生一口氣狼吞虎咽了五六個，打了個飽嗝，說你為什麼以前不給我做那麼好吃的食物？！
我又給他打包了幾個今天飛機上吃。
中午我問，包子吃了嗎？他說，早晨飛機延誤，我在候機廳時三分鐘就把它們解決了…
我說，帶少了吧？
