I agree with u/TerribleReason4195 in Reddit: the new site is much better.

@FreeBSDFoundation true: it's a stronger foundation for the future of the FreeBSD Project.

Too few people appreciate the amount of work that's required, collectively and individually, for a milestone such as this.

I believe that this year's transition would have been far more difficult without the migration that Sergio Carlavilla spearheaded five years ago. Blog entry: How I do Documentation and Learning with #Asciidoctor

Some thoughts on jotting things down and referencing them later. Hope it helps.

Evolutionnext: How I do documentation and learning with Asciidoctor

My personal approach to documentation and learning using Asciidoctor and Git repositories. Instead of relying on large knowledge-management systems, I organize my learning into focused `*-study` repositories with a simple structure for notes, projects, references, and inbox material. The goal is to keep knowledge easy to capture, revisit, and evolve over time.

I have moved the documentation from asciidoctor to markdown (using Hugo instead of a self-created static site generator). Also, reorganized the structure and fixed a lot of wording.

It now builds in less than a second and has live preview, which makes it much nicer to edit..

Easy Online Profiles with Asciidoctor

Want an online presence, but you don't want to build a website, or blog, or self-host? With really basic terminal dabbling and asciidoctor you can quickly make a minimal, simple profile where you own your data.

IntelliJ IDEA Integration for Playfair

As a developer, I work with the IntelliJ IDEA development environment, as do many other developers. I don't want to discuss its many advantages for developers here, but rather how to use Playfair with the AsciiDoc plugin.

Playfair 1.0.0 Release

In the meantime, a lot has happened and the release of Playfair 1.0.0 was forgotten. We would like to make up for this omission and briefly present the highlights of the release.

Writing documentation should be as low-key as possible to remove the pain from the process. One way to achieve this is through Documentation as Code. Setting it up and configuring it may take some time, but once it's done, you can focus on creating the content itself. As a developer, I appreciate good documentation, but…...

Does anyone know how I could add Asciidoctor to a Flatpak manifest? I tried using the Flatpak RubyGems Module Generator, but I don't know if what it generates is correct; the script isn't actively maintained, and I suspect it's not working properly.

The idea here is to use Asciidoctor as a subprocess to convert content that will be displayed in the application.

Diagram As Code

I recently sat in a lecture about PlantUML and the advantages of Diagram As Code. Diagram As Code is a special variant of Documentation As Code. It is the possibility for software developers to create their documentation in the form of text files without the use of word processing systems.

#Jekyll with the #AsciiDoctor plugin looks pretty decent as an option (the plugin is also well-integrated), but Jekyll seems to be a bit restrictive on the site structure, and anybody who has perused my website

https://wok.oblomov.eu/

probably knows by now that aside from the crappy CSS it also fully leverages the power of #ikiwiki's inline directive for nested awesomeness*.

*debatable

So hm should I rewrite Ikiwiki in #Ruby?
