🙏Am 8. Februar feierte die Slowenisch Katholische Gemeinde in München in der Asamkirche (St. Johann Nepomuk) ihr 80-jähriges Jubiläum mit einem Gottesdienst. ⛪

Unser Generalvikar Christoph Klingan zelebrierte gemeinsam mit Pfarrer Izidor Pečovnik die Festmesse in der bis auf den letzten Platz gefüllten Kirche. 🌿 Im Anschluss wurde bei einem Empfang in der Karmeliterkirche weitergefeiert. Dabei wurde der Gemeinde eine Dankesurkunde für ihren Beitrag zur Erhaltung der slowenischen Kultur und Tradition überreicht. 📜

Wir haben die Gelegenheit genutzt und mit der Gemeinde über ihre Entstehung und ihre Traditionen gesprochen.

Für mich als Außenstehende wirkt die #Asamkirche in #München ziemlich #kitschig. Ich habe mich dann mal nicht in die lange Schlange vor der Eingangstür gestellt. // For me as an outsider, the Asam #Church in #Munich seems quite t̶a̶c̶k̶y̶ elaborate. There was a long queue in the street, but I gave it a miss.

While I may not be religious, I can respect the handiwork that created this magnificent building. If you consider the time this was built, it is mind-blowing how intricate and detailed everything is - especially since everything was done by hand.

After breakfast at the Le Méridien, we visited Schloss Nymphenburg. After, we returned to central Munich for lunch & explored the old town a bit more. We visited two churches, the Asamkirche and Frauenkirche, and walked around the exterior of the Neues Rathaus.
