A couple of examples of my paintings alongside Archie McCall’s pots, exciting to see the visual connection between our work. Though we made the pieces separately, this was the result of almost a year of conversation about our practice and commonalities, and spending time exploring the elements and aesthetics of a local peat bog nature reserve in SW Scotland. Some photographs of a group exhibition I am part of called ‘Conversations with Clay’. Last June I was invited by ceramic artist Archie McCall to work together on a fantastic project culminating in an exhibition at Gracefield Arts Centre in Dumfries. The pieces are the result of almost a year of conversation about our practice and commonalities, and spending time exploring the elements and aesthetics of a local peat bog nature reserve in SW Scotland.
