#ArtistOfTheWeek - because I have to catch up!

For our keyword LABOUR I introduced my students to drawer/painter, Narsiso Martinez. A former migrant farmworker turned artist.

He draws and paints portraits of migrant farmworkers on cardboard produce containers.

He gives a face and humanity to work that is often invisible and thankless.

#ArtistOfTheWeek: OK, I'm back on this with the new term started a few weeks ago!

The first Artist of the Week from our week on Reciprocity.

Tehching Hsieh is a Taiwanese-American performance artist who used to do durational pieces lasting one full year.

In particular for the theme of reciprocity, himself and artist Linda Montano were tied to each other with a two meter long rope for one entire year - unable to touch each other.
