"FabVille is hosting our Annual Maker Showcase on Thursday May 8th 4-9 PM in our design lab at Somerville High School. We are looking to celebrate and highlight our community’s creativity and the amazing wonders of Making.

At this event you can expect:

Tours of Fabville and testimonials by community members

Demonstrations of the tools we have in the shop: Laser Cutters, 3d Printers, Vinyl Cutters, CNC machines and more!

5-10 minute presentations from local creatives, organizations, and businesses on their projects and how Makerspaces like Fabville fulfill their needs.

Tabling by local artists, orgs, and businesses.

Networking opportunities with the Makers and Crafters of Somerville.

A Giveaway where one community member win a brand new 3d printer and a one on one 101 class to learn how to use it!?

Sunday is also #SwapFest at #MIT - Its not just #HamRadio nerds, vintage and recent tech, tools, weird collectibles, #VideoGames - my last trip I bought a boombox and a spare laptop power adapter. Laptops? 3d printers? The contents of someone's storage unit?

Advices: Print and bring the flyer for a buck off admission, get there at opening for first pick or at least early, carry cash and some bags or a cart, bring a flashlight (lighting in the parking garage is inconsistent), haggle.
