Once the astronauts are safely back on Earth, they will be tested in an "obstacle course" to see how quickly they can function during a gravity spacewalk; the astronauts will also perform a simulated spacewalk to investigate how quickly they can adjust to a change of gravity for the landing on Moon and possible mission to Mars. #nasa #artemis #artemisII #artemis2 #artemismission #space #moon

Artemis II will test and demonstrate optical communications to and from Earth using the Orion Artemis II Optical Communications System (O2O). The test device will send data to Earth with a downlink rate of up to 260 megabits per second.

4 astronauts set to orbit the moon. What will they eat? How will they sleep? Go to the toilet?
Think of it like a long family trip, with everyone packed into an minivan along with all of your stuff — except that you're hitting the road at 28,000 km/h and there are no pit stops for nearly 10 days.

The journey to the lunar vicinity is expected to last three days, and astronauts will spend one day in lunar observation of the far side of the Moon, with some parts seen up close by humans for the first time.
