The pacing is, as I remembered not really good, but from my first (re)impression way better than the DVD release, despite both being called Polymatrix, which is the name for the movie cut. Also I was thinking about buying the original Episodes that where released prior to the Polymatrix cut but a) finding a PAL tape seems almost impossible, b) I don't want to import NTSC tapes because, c) neither my VHS nor my TV are NTSC capable d) for the price of a kidney.

Question: from which point are we talking archeology in case of 'modern' technology? I mean 30 years is way to short for an archeological found but 30 years for tech? I bet not a single phone today will make it that far. I fear the day my DVDs & CDs will die...

*This only counts for the first add break the second was extremely late as they aired and contained telefon sex adds ... That was ... Weird ... To put it nicely.

I recently reconnected my CRT-TV from the late 1990 to early 2000 to my as(s) old Video Home System (VHS) Recorder & tested if it worked. Good news it still works, bad news the VHS Recorder has some minor issues that over time might accumulate. I watched the recording of Armitage 3 I have from back in the day, as it was first shown on VOX (a German TV Broadcast station). As I remembered the Voice cast was different & the localized dubbing was also different.

A lot more swearing and not as fork sexist as the newer version. On the old 4:9 CRT the recording looked pretty decent if we take some minor issues with tape/recorder aging into account. Of course not as good as todays standard but not really bad.

I'm thinking about watching the two versions parallel next week or so and maybe making some comparison.

I also had some ass old adds recorded. Not as bad as todays adds ...*

Boah ... Bought a DVD German localisation and voice over on eBay.

The Polymatrix cut was first shown on German TV, it already suffered from pacing issues in comparison to its original episodes, but had a outstanding Voice cast that set the tone on edge, with very unique cast.
The DVD I bought has the second dubbing... It is so flat and on the nose and just blatantly bad in my opinion. Name changes and typically movie and series voices actors.

Where Rene Don Cloud was a Joker like Villain and Naomi an edgy but likable character the new dialogue changes make them so soft without edges and even more sexist in my opinion (the original dubbing is from 1995 the second from 2002) making an iconic movie a forgettable experience...

Seems like I really need to invest 400€ in the original Series DVD release or reconnect my VHS Tape recorder in the hope it still works...

The Asylum is an Armittage type 3 shuttle that was produced on Mars at Old 1 assembly on Mars at One Hill, one of the oldest, traditional spacecraft and orbital flight vehicles manufacturers, she is the second owner, it was previously owned by a guy called Joker Morow.
