YOUNG PERIPHERIES: INSTANCES OF THE NEW GENERATIONS

There are many ways to tell, investigate, and analyze the problems and difficulties faced by the new generations. Arianna Massimi – a photographer and filmmaker – and Riccardo Venturi – an internationally renowned photojournalist with over thirty years of experience – have chosen the language of images to do so: a powerful, polysemous, and as current as any other. Their photographic and audiovisual projects have focused specifically on young people and the many critical issues that mark, particularly in this historical context, their search for their place in the world. From the “I’m Not an Emergency” campaign, focused on the mental health of adolescents and young adults in Italy, to “States of Childhood – A Journey into the Growing Country,” a project on school dropout and social exclusion in Italy, to photographic books like "Suburbe" on the Roman outskirts, in this new episode of the “Young Peripheries” podcast, Arianna and Riccardo have told us about their journey through the lives of the new generations from a special perspective.
