🇳🇱 Gisteren ben ik bezig geweest met TrueNAS en NextCloud. De laatste keer is alweer een tijdje geleden, dus ik was helemaal kwijt waar ik mee bezig was.

TrueNAS draait op zich wel goed op mijn oude PC en NextCloud werkt ook, maar nu moet ik NextCloud bereikbaar zien te maken zodat ik er ook buitenshuis bij kan. En dat is nogal een gedoe, want ik moet allerlei dingen configureren waar ik te weinig kaas van gegeten heb, zoals tunneling, certificaten voor https en dat soort dingen. Erg frustrerend.

Ik zit er nu aan te denken om TrueNAS maar te laten voor wat het is en Ubuntu Server gaan gebruiken, waarop ik dan NextCloud los installeer. Daar zijn veel goed te volgen tutorials voor en ik heb NextCloud ook al eens werkend gekregen op een Raspberry Pi, wat veel minder gedoe was dan als applicatie binnen TrueNAS.

(...tenzij iemand een hele goede tutorial heeft voor het helemaal juist configureren van TrueNAS vóór ik er andere applicaties op installeer, zodat die niet gaan zeuren over onveilige verbindingen en meer van dat ge 💩 ...)

Luke Willson is the pimple on the ass of the #CFL.

It was bad enough when they gave him multiple sideline segments every game last year - at least I could mute the TV during his segments. And yes, I absolutely did that.

This year they have him in the booth as a colour commentator. I can't easily mute that.

#TSN, I don't know how you managed to do it, but you're making me pine for the days of having Paul LaPolice in the booth. I didn't think that would be possible. Hell, I'd take Rod Black as the colour guy over Willson.

Welcome to #linux! It's super easy! To install packages, just use the GUI... oh. Oh that one. Well, that is super easy too! Just open a terminal and type pip3 .... oh, that? Yeah, you just have to figure out what a virtual environment is, figure out how to create one, whether to create a new one every time, how to manage it, and how to install your software using that! Oh you'll need some other libraries for that, and maybe to install some new things in the venv and oh yeah that's a common problem. It just means you have to... where are you going? It's super easy!

pipx seems like a good alternative except apparently it can't install what I need, for some reason. Back to trying to figure out how to set up and use virtual environments so I can install a damn thing.

Edit: It's not actually hard to do this, unless there are complications. It's just yet another damn thing to remember, and more steps to go through. Hoping this #pipx tool gets developed enough that it can do all of this with one command.

They seem to be eager to access as many external information sources. But when it comes to using the conversations somewhere else, they are overly protective. MS #SolpPilot has no expert conversation function. And even with #AtlassianRovo I can’t link to a conversation from a Jura issue.
