Does anyone have the source code for David B. Cook's Handbook of Computational Quantum Chemistry?

Or, barring that, does anyone have the author's email?

But not having a backdoor is not the only issue that breaks this security. You also have to make sure that your system isn't going to snitch on you. You should avoid having any closed source software, and also avoid having any Chromium-based programs or browsers installed (such as Google Chrome, Google Chromium, Vivaldi, Opera, Brave, Microsoft Edge, React, etc) outside of a locked down virtual machine, as not all open source software is safe for this. There is a level of privacy and safety needed. If partially closed source software (such as Firefox, a few of its components out of its control are closed source) can't be avoided, choose the software with the least closed source components, and go for trust (Firefox is falling out here, I will need to replace with Waterfox, or another browser soon)

Well, today I spent the day as a volunteer in the Mills Archive (no relation), scanning photos of watermills in Devon and adding them to the catalogue.

My intent for doing this (one day a week) is to get some experience, and retrain as an archivist. I don't want to keep doing software development as a job, given the utter state the industry's in these days. It'll still be a hobby, as it has been for the last 45 years, but just that.

really happy to have discovered something hiding in plain sight for several years: robyn & rand miller's original Myst pitch document from 1991.

it's a succinct work of art in itself. i'm surprised at how much of the world design was already on paper.

as all of the copies found elsewhere online are heavily compressed webp/jpeg, i've uploaded the robyn's original PNGs to IA here:

originally from robyn's site:

My #audiocd ripping project is going fine.

Today: Ran into a box set that I bought in the late 1990s. Whoops! The first CDs I've found in the pile that had disc rot. All 3 discs were yellowed, two of them were translucent.

Ripped fine though.

Haven't listened to all of them so I don't know if it affects the quality and to what extent (plus the music is analog era rock, so this isn't 100% pristine anyway), but yeah, #cdparanoia bloody rules if it can handle this stuff.

Been in touch with some "Archivist" working on a comprehensive archive of all the Cybersix material...

They plan to release like a BitTorrent or something to make it easy to share and prevent "Link Rot"...

Excuse me, I'm not that technical...

Oh good.

Basically, I had a bunch of weird private potentially-later-open-source crap that I never finished that I made on GitLab private repositories back in the day.

I migrated them to #Codeberg when I moved my stuff over from there. ...before reading that Codeberg is *primarily* reserved for public open source repositories. And I don't really want to make these weird hacks public, at least not yet.

Well, luckily, looks like it's pretty damn easy to migrate repositories from Codeberg to my private #Forgejo thing. Just as easy as it was before, migrating stuff in! Just generate a token and off ye go.

So soon, my ADHD brainfarts shall take up excess disk space at the prestigious open source host no more.

I am trying to get this document to render.
I was trying to create an offline, hard copy of the first page of https://leave-russia.org/ (with all options) expanded. Saving the webpage itself was tried first, but it was truncated too early, has formatting issues, and isn't of much use. I then saved the page as a PDF, via Firefox, CTRL + P. It almost worked, the PDF is 22.7 megabytes in size, and reports to be about 1,290 pages (at the time of export) but it doesn't open, and gives this error (see attached image) I then tried copying the text into LibreOffice Writer. After 27 minutes, I gave up on waiting, and let LibreOffice kill itself. Finally, I tried copying all of the webpage text, then putting it into a text editor. I really thought this would be the winning solution, but it truncated too early, and only gave me 1,008 lines of text.
Does anybody know how I can create a hard copy of this page for myself?
