Trump says that nobody will go to war over a tiny country like #Greenland and that the #UnitedStates can therefore do whatever he wants there.

History disagrees. #WW1 had several causes, but the most immediate was the assassination of Austrian #ArchdukeFerdinand by Serbia. Small countries. It led to WW1 because of alliances.

#Trump has no integrity, so this is lost on him, but other world leaders - our #NATO allies - are better than that.

In actuality, the archduke's route was changed, the driver managed to foul up even the altered route, and happened to drive straight past Gavrilo Princip and stall the car in front of him, enabling the successful assassination.

Truth is stranger than fiction and all that jazz.
