@h5e whilst there is combat, #ArcenGames A Valley Without Wind (series, I and II) deliver a kind of Metroid RPG hybrid experience that has a lot more exploration and adventuring than really tough platforming.

AVWW II took the first title and added more refinements, but also included an isometric world exploration and strategic side to the game.

Might be worth a look-see if you're after something different to the usual skill checked metroidvanias out there?

I've been playing the public demo of Arcen Games' upcoming Heart Of The Machine. In true Arcen style it's complex and confusing and crunchy and hugely, massively engaging for me. Also, rogue AI loose in a giant megacorp-controlled dystopian city with options to kill all the humans, help all the humans, or both, or a mix, or whatever the hell you want?
