I met Yasmine a number of years ago thanks to the folks from Coco Rosie. I heard some of the tracks from her then upcoming album and loved them and have kept track of her work ever since. She’s Lebanese (Israel and the US are bombing Lebanon) and is married to a wonderful Palestinian filmmaker Elia Suleiman (I’ve seen some of his films) who is sometimes compared to Jacques Tati (funny films).
