I'm enjoying my second Campari of the evening. I love the bitterness and citrus and herb undertones. - a truly great aperitif!

My father introduced me to Campari when I was teenager, and I always think of him when I drink it. Perhaps that association, as well as the bitterness, makes me think of it as a "grown up" drink, "ungrown up" drinks being alcopops, vodka and orange, and any cocktail with a name designed to elicit guffaws from frat boys when requested by a young woman.

Notice that the corporate web page on the history of Campari omits mention of the 2006 discontinuation of the insect based carmine dye. By finishing at 2021, it also dodges controversy about Campari being marketed in Russia after the invasion of Ukraine. Nice to see Salma Hayek though...
