Detained Palestinian Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya Appears in Israeli Court with Signs of Torture, Family Says
The family of the Palestinian doctor Hussam Abu Safiya say they fear he is being tortured in Israeli detention after the doctor appeared by video link at an Israeli Supreme Court hearing in Jerusalem. One of the doctor’s sons, Ilyas Abu Safiya, told Al Jazeera, “We did not only see the face of a father we have missed for many long months, we saw the marks of torture, pain and exhaustion clearly etched on his face.” Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya has been detained without charge for over 500 days. Prior to his detention, Dr. Abu Safiya had served as a pediatrician and director of the Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza. His lawyer, Nasser Odeh, spoke after Wednesday’s hearing.
Nasser Odeh: “The doctor explained to us and also to the court that he is still suffering from severe back pain and neck pain as a result of an assault he suffered during his transfer two months ago from Nafha Prison to Negev Prison. He has not received treatment yet and needs medical follow-up due to chronic illnesses. He is experiencing vision problems due to the confiscation of his eyeglasses, which he has not yet received. Also, we continue to see signs of skin diseases that were on the doctor’s hands and are widespread in the political prisoner sections within Israeli prisons. These diseases have spread significantly and as a result of medical negligence.”

Four Palestine Action Activists Convicted over Raid at Factory Operated by Israeli Defense Firm Elbit
In Britain, four Palestine Action activists have been convicted of criminal damage over their involvement in a 2024 protest and raid on a factory operated by the Israeli defense firm Elbit. Two other defendants on the same trial were acquitted. The four activists were found guilty Tuesday of smashing up Elbit military equipment. Their legal team said in a statement, “They went into this trial with their heads held high and with the knowledge that no matter the verdict, by destroying Israeli military drones, their action likely saved lives in Palestine.” The British government has banned Palestine Action under its Terrorism Act.

Another Whistleblower Describes “Indiscriminate” Israeli Violence Against Gaza Aid Seekers
In the Gaza Strip, Israeli attacks killed at least six Palestinians on Monday in the latest violations of the U.S.-brokered ceasefire that was supposed to have taken effect last October. Meanwhile, a second whistleblower has stepped forward with disturbing details about his time as a contractor with the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, the former U.S.- and Israeli-backed organization whose aid distribution centers were condemned by Doctors Without Borders as sites of “orchestrated killing and dehumanization.” In his first interview since returning from Gaza, the contractor, David McIntosh, tells Drop Site News he witnessed Israeli soldiers indiscriminately gunning down Palestinians seeking aid, including children. He also witnessed Israelis using stray dogs for target practice and firing dangerously close to — or directly at — the GHF contractors themselves. Gaza’s Health Ministry reports that between May and October of 2025, over 2,600 Palestinians were killed and more than 19,000 wounded at or near aid distribution sites and U.N. convoys.
