Goooooo baaaaack to polaaaaand? 🤔
"In March 1968, #RachelleHalpern walked into her university in #Szczecin, #Poland, and found a group of her classmates gathered around a newspaper. She asked what they were reading about. The answer came: “#Zionists.”
#Halpern didn’t understand. Who were the Zionists? One classmate said, “The #Jews.”
“But I’m a #Jew,” said Halpern. Her classmates looked at her in disbelief. She couldn’t be, one said. She had no horns.
Halpern was about to be swept up in a spiral of social and political crises in communist Poland, culminating in a government-sponsored #antisemitic campaign that stripped Jews of their jobs, schools, and citizenship, forcing some 13,000 to leave the country. Within months, Halpern would find herself renouncing her #Polish nationality and leaving everything she knew for a new life in the #UnitedStates.
At that moment, when her classmates read the word “#Zionists” and looked up at her with horror, she felt a shift."
Cool cool cool. Good times out here I guess... 😒
"When dozens of #Jewish girls emerged from a storm drain in #Nyack, #NewYork, Wednesday after becoming lost on a #school trip, local officials described the episode as a fortunate ending to a potentially dangerous situation.
On #socialmedia, however, the incident quickly drew a slew of #antisemitic comments.
“They can’t help it. Roaches and rats love the sewers,” wrote one #Facebook user on a post by the #Rockland Daily.
“Those tunnels were promised to them 3,000 years ago,” another user wrote, referencing the common online antisemitic phrase ridiculing the Jewish connection to #Israel.
Many of the comments also referenced the 2024 incident at the #Chabad-#Lubavitch movement’s world headquarters in #CrownHeights, #Brooklyn, in which a group from the movement attempted to dig an unauthorized tunnel beneath the building.
“From the tunnels in Brooklyn to the tunnels in nyack! The black coats never disappoint[...]"
"A #Jewish #bakery owned by #Polish and #Israeli #immigrants in #Berlin has shut its doors, citing a combination of economic pressure and #antisemitic harassment.
#Babka&Krantz opened in the #Friedenau district in November 2022 and added a second location in December 2024, adjacent to the memorial at the site where the #Nazis devised their “#finalsolution” for the #Jews during the #Holocaust.
The second location at the House of the #WannseeConference closed on Nov. 30, according to the bakery’s Instagram account, which directed followers to a statement from the memorial that has since been deleted from its website.
“We regret the verbal abuse and the difficult situation to which the managing directors and employees of BABKA & KRANTZ Meisterkonditorei were exposed and express our full understanding for the termination of the cooperation under these circumstances,” said the March 10 statement[...]
Now, the original location has closed, too."
Well that’s rich. Once again we uncover the deep contempt for basic morality that characterizes the #antisemitic / “anti-Israel” / “anti-Zionist” crowd.

Not sure which I'd rather see less of, Kanye or Holocaust museums. 🤔
"The mayor of the city of #Arnhem in the #Netherlands, #AhmedMarcouch, invited the #rapper #KanyeWest to visit #Amsterdam’s main #Holocaust #museum, but management there distanced itself from the invitation on Sunday and criticized the mayor for extending it.
#Kanye West, or #Ye, is an #American performer currently on tour in the Netherlands. He has a history of making #antisemitic statements, for which he apologized earlier this year.
Ye has distanced himself from previous antisemitic statements in the past, but had revisited #Nazi themes..."

"#Assemblywoman #AmyPaulin has successfully negotiated key #bufferzone protections for #housesofworship and #Jewish institutions in the #NewYork State budget bill, Part QQ of A.10008-C/S.9008-C, passed today.
The #legislation, a result of intense negotiations surrounding #Governor #Hochul’s proposed buffer zone law, aims to enhance #publicsafety while withstanding constitutional scrutiny. Assemblywoman #Paulin collaborated closely with Assemblymembers #SimchaEichenstein and #MicahLasher to craft the bill.
The agreement marks a significant win for the Jewish community and other #faithbased institutions facing increased #harassment and #antisemitic incidents. “As #antisemitism and hate crimes rise, it is essential that our institutions have meaningful protections,” Paulin said."

"Eighty-nine percent of #Canadians agree #Jewish people belong in #Canada as much as anyone else. But 37 percent of that majority qualified their agreement with “somewhat”—a hedge that runs through the entire poll like a fault line.
The same softness also appears when Canadians are asked whether Jewish people should not be punished for the actions of the #Israeli government: 87 percent agreed, but within that, 38 percent said only “somewhat.”
Asked whether all Canadians should stand against #antisemitic statements and behaviour, 87 percent agreed. Again, 38 percent qualified that with “somewhat.”
The starkest number was around safety."
