I have a bunch of these free peat seed starters & am making them into guerilla seed-ball bombs by adding some compost soil/clay & assortment of native plant seeds & herbs/food plant seeds. They'll be easy to throw out, from my scooter or car window.

I sowed 500 sativa/indica/hemp seeds all across downtown #VictoriaBC public gardens & traffic boulevards over the past 2 weeks. I hope at least 1/4 root strong & provides for the peoples in our community ✌️I'm sowing more, every 2-3 weeks until September.

Lots of different native plants, some introduced beneficial plants, some edible & medicinal plants - closer to ground & not visible in vid. The mixed tall grasses, buckwheat, alfalfa, buttercups & dandelions are between 2-4 feet tall now. I'm doing ongoing soil remediation as part of my longterm rewilding project. Aiming to create a suburban backyard food forest - pollinators/wildlife friendly gardens will be part of it all 😀

5 years ago, this spot was just useless colonial lawn. Now, it's full of #biodiversity & attracts multiple pollinators, birds & beneficial insects. There's lots of buttercups, nettles, clovers, miner's lettuce, wild violets, sedges, buckwheat & tall grasses growing now. You can even see some self seeded chive flowers in background.

#Rewilding takes longtime, consistent efforts, over a few years. It's worth the time & effort! Rewilding is one way that I actively & personally contribute, locally, to essential #ClimateAction 🙌 I believe in living true to your core values & ethics.
