“Even before these changes, the #LGBTQ+ media advocacy group #GLAAD reported last year that Meta often failed to remove posts violating its hate speech policies. Now, even those guardrails that had been established to protect people from internet #harassment are disappearing.

“Without these necessary hate speech and other policies, Meta is giving the green light for people to target LGBTQ people, women, immigrants, and other marginalized groups with violence, vitriol, and dehumanizing narratives. With these changes, Meta is continuing to normalize anti-LGBTQ #hatred for profit — at the expense of its users and true freedom of expression. Fact-checking and hate speech policies protect free speech.” said GLAAD President and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis in a statement responding to the changes.”

I lost half of my friends in #Germany. They moved completely to the #rightextremist side. #AntiTrans #AntiLGBTIQ #AntiGay and calling #Soros the biggest threat and wishing each #white #German should marry a white German.

I studied with them. I did multiple BBQs with them. We had fun together. And now they say I would have a mental health issue and perhaps a therapy could make me "love a woman".

They repeat Russian propaganda. No common ground anymore.

It hurts. Much. How is this possible?

Nebraska lawmaker 3 weeks into filibuster over trans bill

Nebraska state Sen. Machaela Cavanaugh is three weeks into a pledge to filibuster every bill that comes before the Legislature — even the ones she supports. The Omaha lawmaker is pontificating on the Senate floor about everything from her favorite Girl Scout cookies to the plot of the animated movie “Madagascar” in protest against conservatives' advancement of a bill that would outlaw gender-affirming therapy for those 18 and younger. Cavanaugh declared she would “burn the session to the ground” in an effort to stymie the bill. And so far, she has, slowing the Legislature's business to a crawl. Wednesday marks the halfway point of this year’s 90-day session, and not a single bill will have passed thanks to the filibuster.
