How the hell does your "antifascism" and "anti-racism" square with your Canadian "elbows up" nationalism, exactly? Because Canada is still a settler colonial state. Still a white supremacist entity on stolen land. It still supports colonialism around globe, mining the fuck out of Indigenous lands against explicit protests in opposition to that very extraction by those very Indigenous peoples here and continents away. Still laying pipelines under the same conditions. The state still stands by Israel while it commits a live-streamed genocide.

The military expansion of the US fascist empire into so-called "Canada" would be terrible, although Canada has been part of the same white supremacist project for its entire history. The horror is not in the destruction of the Canadian nation state, but in the expanding reach of fascism, the loss of the limited accomplishments people in Canada enjoy over those in the States at the moment (free healthcare (except for pharmacare, mental healthcare, dental, etc.), the rhetoric of the state's relationship to Indigenous peoples), the quickening authoritarianization of the government, and of course, armed conflict. But you cannot resist American fascism with Canadian nationalism unless you are looking to support your own, homegrown fascism instead. If you are trying to stop fascism, you need to fight against Canadian nationalism.

Don't enforce the boarder, dismantle it!
